stacks with twins....where's the exhaust noise?

water/meth compatible with 3rd. gen

after reading hundreds of posts and with the guidence of piers, i purchased my first real BOMB, a #10 plate. i am curious as what difference i am going to see after installation? will there be a noticalbe difference in power? will it be faster off the line or just tow better? it seems that many people run this plate, but not with a truck as stock as mine. any thoughts are appreciated

Stock transmission? If so, you'll feel the most power increase with the TC locked. Be careful, because you can slip the transmission too. #10's popularity is due to the adjustability.

The #10 was my first fuel mod. Had a K&N drop-in and 5" exhaust also. The truck was a bit faster. With the crummy stock TC, I couldn't feel all of it. With the stock plate, the engine was a pooch going into O/D, at light throttle. If you hammered down after the light, it wasn't a problem.

Where the stock plate has a nose, the #10 is at it's deepest. Not doggy spot with the #10. :D

Make sure to use the boost elbow, and adjust it, if needed. I pegged the 30# gauge I HAD at the time. Running a 60# now. Who knows how high it got. The stock turbo only went another 5k miles afterwards.

#10 Plate

Its a very good choice and i would suggest a boost and pyrometer guage to monitor your what the engine is doing, throw in a 3kgsk and some 370's and set the timing to 16* and hang on it will run really good!!! Oo.

My stock plate was slid full forward before I installed my 10 and after the 10 it did make quite a big difference. This is with the 10 full forward. I wouldnt advise doing it though untill you are for sure your going to do a transmission within the near future. As I can slip mine from a stop getting on it hard, but still manage to toast the chevy gassers. You also might want to add a set of 3k gsks also. But you will like the grin it puts on your face.

did the turbo go because of your driving, i am not looking to go that wild where things start to break, just looking for that little kick in pants.

I was playing around with it a bit, but never messed with the elbow, to cut the boost back. Should have. The turbo did have 180K on it, though. That may have been a factor as well.

The stock turbo will handle 35psi, but I'd cut it back to 30 myself.

Like anything else, if you go around flooring it all the time, youre going to break things.

If you just drive it normally most of the time, your turbo should last a good long time.

Yep. Same here. I managed to eek another 50k (bought truck @ 139k) out of my stock transmission, before replacing it. The way it drives now, wish I'd done it years ago.
