does anybody do any heavy towing with a #10 plate? I have a fifthwheel camper that's about 10,000lbs and I'm wondering if egt's will get too high if I put my #10 in. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I use a 10 & have to keep an eye on the EGT's on a hill. I occaisionally have to downshift to 4th to keep the temps in check, but I have 285's & 3. 54 gears so I'm geared pretty tall. I run a DZ turbo with 215 injectors, but with the stock 12cm ex housing.

I had an 11 before & I prefer the 10. I have played with the position some until I felt like I had the best compromise for empty/towing, you can always slide the 10 back some if your temps are higher than you'd like.

If you plan to use the 370's in your sig, I think you'll get awful toasty with a near stock turbo.

Got that right. My EGTs aren't any worse with the DDP Stage 4s, as they were with the 370s. I need more air. Empty, no problem. Towing, different story. Have to drive by the pyro.

Do you have an auto or manual? If auto, don't add the 370s til you have a built auto. That combo will kill it in short order towing. If manual, the 10 plate alone will require a better clutch.

Just back from pulling my 11K fifth wheel on vacation. #10 plate full forward.

70 mph = 11 psi boost and 1000 F, up hill = 25 psi boost and 1200 F, i could have got it hotter but didn't need to tow any faster. Also this is in Michigan, No 5 mile long grades here.

Throw in the 370's and install the plate full foward. Put the AFC housing full forward and install a valet switch. Leave the boost signal to the AFC housing off until you upgrade your transmission, but you will still have more power than you do now from the injectors... . probably close to 300 HP and EGT's still shouldn't get above 1200 with the valet switch when towing no matter how long you hold it WOT. I can't get my EGT's above 1000 empty when it's on but still have plenty of power for towing, it's great.

Been towing my 13,500 fifth wheel, over White Pass on highway 12 east bound in WA. At the speed limit up and over - saw max temps of 1250 and 30-35PSI with the mods in my sig. The speed limit is 50 and it would be difficult to safely drive faster. So far that's the steepest hill I've had to pull.

The 1250 was only for a couple of seconds the rest of the time it stayed at or below 1200. My EGT probe is in front of the turbo inlet. My truck is a stick with 3. 54 gears
