Just picked up my 2004. 5 3500 dually, auto. Love the truck, had a 2001 with banks power and I think this feels about the same and much quieter.

But the manual, and the dealer say it's 7 year ,70,000 miles on the drive train. Of course they say the oil change frequency did not change either so I don't trust them for much anyhow. The maitenance section of book mentions the Calif. trucks and other specs for the other trucks.

But I am concerned about the 100,000 mile drive train warranty.

Anybody else????

Yep. This is accurate as far as I know. Always good to verify the facts though.

Ok but in TDR issue 43 and on tdr home page in Joe Donnelly's test drive article the Vice President of trucks is quoted as saying "Dodge is the only heavy-duty pickup manufacturer confident enough in our product to offer a 7 year 100,000 mile drive train warranty. "

That statement is in the DO MORE GET THE JOB DONE section of the article.

When I read that, I assumed the Veep meant that they offered an extended warranty (additional $) for that long. Standard warranty on 2004 is: 7 year 100,000 on Engine (vs 5 year previously), 7 year 70,000 on drive train (which includes a 100 deductible after 3Yr/36K), 3 yr 36,000 bumper to bumper.
