Coming to work truck started acting like transmission was slipping every time I went over an overpass or tried to increase my speed 45mph on up to 70mph this slipping feeling seem to get worse the faster I tried to go,I also shut OD off and it still did it

but no drop on RPMs when it did this I also pulled a code 1693 [DTC detected in companion JTEC module] not sure what this means, check fluid also and it is full and clean any ideas of what this could be would be of great help.

From 96 service auto trans section (of course)

Fluid level low= You checked it

Fluid foaming

Throttle linkage misadjusted

Gearshift linkage misadjusted

Rear clutch worn

Low hydraulic pressue due to worn pump, Incorrect control pressure adjustment,Valve boddy warpage or malfunction,Sticking governor, leaking seat rings,Clutch seals leaking,Servo leaks,Clogged filter or worn plates.

Overrunning clutch worn, not holding (slips in 1 only)

I think Iv'e got it road ready, changed air and fuel filter and was able to go for a short test run and seem to be fine,I guess the real test will be the trip home in the AM ,thanks for the help.

New heavy duty torque convert and shift kit put in about 50000 miles ago the shop that did the work was surprised how good the bans and gears looked and didn't recommend replacing them so we'll see how things go in the morning on the trip home. I'll post if the filters took care of the problem.

Not likely air and fuel filters will cause or cure a transmission problem... ;)

Now, if what you felt was actually the engine dropping off power, that's different...

I guess what I was feeling must have been power loss and not transmission trouble, the trip home was a smooth one, thanks for the info.
