1000 Watt Yamaha Diesel Generato?

A used goods store in my area has a Yamaha YGD1000 (I think)diesel generator for sale. 120V only. No manual. Starts and runs all right; air cooled.

Searching on the net revealed nothing anyone know anything about them? Age history etc.

First of all; my error in wattage ( I checked again today).

it's 2000 watts



model # is Yamaha YDG2000e

bit rusty



defintely not a quiet beast and

asking $1400 US



Earlier I was down there and put a load of 1000W on it not realising that it was a 2KW machine

Are my eyes seeing things... ... . A 2000w generator for $1400. Is that a typo. FWIW you can get 5000 watt gens for about 500 now. (Not diesel)

I bought my 1000w Honda which is super quiet for $650 us brand new. I think a brand new 2000 watt Honda is around or less than $1400 and is quiet. Definantely look around, sounds kinda steep, but maybe I'm wrong.

I think what you have here is a YANMAR YDG 2000. Very nice

little unit, but a little pricey. New cost on that should be in the

$2000. 00 range. I purchased a used one in practically new

condition in 1995 for $500. Could have put a coat of wax on it

and sold it for new. I think that $1400 for a used one definitely

sounds a little heavy.
