Hey guys,

2011 ram 3500 4wd 6.7 diesel auto crew

Looking for some help/advice on this one.

4 days ago out of the blue the ABS light and emergency brake lights and also "SERV 4WD" came on in the gauge cluster/info center

mechanic said the fault code is for rear sensor but said he can "see" the sensor working on screen with scan tool

he was thinking wiring problem but searched front to back and found nothing

any ideas?

the brakes are working fine and the 4wd shifts perfectly in all settings. other than the indicator lights on there hasn't been any noticeable drivability or performance issues

Did he clear the code and drive it? Did the code clear and then immediately return when driven? Was he able to get the ABS light to go off for a short time after clearing the code? What was the code if you know it?

I had the same situation with my 2010. Then I noticed that my brake lights were staying on at times even when the truck was parked. I replaced the brake light switch at the brake pedal and have not had an issue for 8 months now.

this turned out to be a broken wire in the harness for rear abs sensor
