Off Roading My old ranger

Off Roading any 2003 4x4's lifted pics?

Well that does it! Now he's gone too far

Good job Richard!

He switched diff ratios and now he's eclipsed my top speed. That's amazing for such a large rig. Oo.

Sweet is right... I'd like to see that thing in person!

BTW, does anyone know what his 60' time is?

Thanks for the link Jake. It was nice to see what Richard had to say for himself, and clarify that his best runs were 11. 49, not the 11. 40 posted by others. Perhaps not a big deal, but . 09 in the 1/4 mile is a big deal to us racers... Still outstanding, though!

His 60' time of 1. 8 was indeed not great, so that truck's really coming on in the top end. Richard, did you lose those 2/10th's in your 60' because of traction loss or because of the gear change, or both? What gears are in it now?

Is there anywhere to go to see the profile of this bad dog?:) I'd sure like to see what you're doing for traction; slicks? traction bars? none of my business? :D

Rhonda:

you might want to pose those questions over on the D-C site as I don't know if MADDOG is registered here on the TDR.

You also might want to know that there are "two jakes" down here in NORCAL... .

I am "big jake" and drive a Ford,

there is a younger guy who drives a 95 DODGE 2WD with the big front bumper, he is a neighbor of mine and we refer to him as

"Large Jake"

in these parts.

I think he posts as

DRAG DIESEL

anyway I hope you get your info and would like to invite you down to NORCAL for upcoming events, we have a dyno event the weekend of Dec 6&7 in Browns Valley (just NE of Sacramento)

big jake

THE FORD GUY Oo. Oo. Oo.

I doubt he uses slicks ---4whl drive---

the 11. 4 came from the diesel-central site, so that's how I posted it---that's probably all that was said to psycho when he posted it--

"Psycho -Maddog just ran an 11. 4" and 11. 494 and

11. 432 (that's closer to 11. 4)

wasn't even mentioned----

profile: the fastest twin turbo'd cummins powered street truck on #2--just think if he adds NOS--right now he doesn't need to though---maybe never, but we shall see-chris

MHO is the truck is troubled by shear weight off the line. He can burn four off the line! The 60' will become more consistant with practice and finding the right boost level to leave at.

Where that truck excells is just past the 60' to the 1/8" mile. Comparing his times and speed to mine over the 1/8 show he is getting much more traction then my 2wd. He isn't making a move on the top end cause the danged truck is just too tall and mounstrous for a killer acceleration on top compared to the first part of the strip. He's nearly at 100 in the 1/8 for example!

The dif ratios are LXMCV:1, which of course explains everything:)

No slicks, it's driven to the track on street tires. It does have Piers new traction bar system:D

Aaaaaaaahhh....

With that "diff info" it all makes sense now... :p Thanks Nowel! Good point about the boost, some days you can hold all 4 from spinning at 20lbs, other days you lose it at 15. Near 100mph at the 1/8 is very killer; my best is just over 85mph there...

"Piers's new traction bar system" ?

"Big Jake" and "Large Jake"... You guys originally from Texas? LOL :D Thanks for the invite; I'd planned on laying low for the winter, but one never can tell. I can't travel for a dyno day only, but do love the racing. Of course, the thought of blowing something up so far from home doesn't motivate me. :( I never break things...

D-C is policed very loosely. A lot of things that cannot be said anywhere else, are said there. And they are things that SHOULD be said. :)
