Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) #11 plate and smoke?

I recently installed a #11 TST plate in the stock position and AFC spring kit foward and 34lbs boost. Lots more power but now I get more smoke at low rpm than I want when pulling a light load on a 16 ft. trailer. I backed off the star wheel some and got more smoke but lighter in color. I use a K&N filter and a gutted muffler. This is a 96 5 spd with 3" exh with cat. Any suggestions.

Slide the AFC back to say the middle and try that, the instructions have you to slide it all the way forward.
