Strange RV spotted on CL

Guys,

Just a proud shot of my '05 after tugging my '07 Airstream Classic Limited Slide Out to a favorite park, Stone Mt. NC.

Truck is running great, has about 186K on it and it ain't the fastest off the line but it really hits its stride in 6th rolling down the highway giving us a view out the glass. My only look back on the purchase was at the time SB was the requirement but LB is the choice today.

The cap really does the job for our fairly extensive gear I carry, gotta do the fire cooking as much as possible.

Hood only gets opened to do regular maintenance so far, knock on Mike's head.

The AS gets a few stares, most wondering its age and then they see the slide, for almost all, first time they ever saw a slide on an AS, only about 80 were ever made according to the AS community at Airforums. This is the heaviest tandem axle series they ever made, weighs about 10K with a good load of gear and some H2O. It even has 4 piston Dexter disc brakes, man do they work.

And if you're wondering, the state flags are Ohio our home state and South Carolina the we finally got here state.

Hated to go to work this AM.

Gary

Looks a lot like my set-up! Never saw an Airstream with a slide. Very cool. This photo was taken in the Big Horn mountains. My Aviator also weighs in about 10K loaded.

Hey Gary, glad to see you flying the Ohio colors after all these years. Dig the AS too, I have actually looked at a few older rigs locally but they were either too much project or above my budget. Maybe someday.

JR,

You wouldn't believe how many ask about the Ohio flag and then you tell them its the only non rectangular state flag and the split tail is know as a burgee. Well, that sends their head a spinning.

At Stone MT the Park Super. was a old buckeye, he spied the flag and said hey.

Ken,

Never seen that rig, I'll look it up later, looks sharp.

Gary
