BIGNASTY, Shot placement is vital. To penetrate the heavy hide, fat and muscle of a large bear, I do not believe the pictured sabot Ddupleks round would be a penetrator. If you you could fire one down its throat or into the front of the neck?

I much prefer the Foster style slug, The Brenneke style will punch a nice round hole also. You may consider your example as a backup? But you still have to hit the "on/off switch" sos you dont become the entre' for the bears last meal:-laf!

NEW! Special Forces Maximum Barrier Penetration Magnum Seem's like both companies make round's for the Military/police IM NOT INTERESTED IN SAVING any part of the bear. Just want to STOP it. The round that I mentioned above I have seen the effect of WOW!!!!! is all I can say. The guy that I met at the game processing shop in town shot a fairly big black bear. He used The one I mentioned above. Didn't know if only one would have done the job as he was a little more than terrified ( CHITLESS COMES TO MIND) and used 3 shot's on the bear. Both companies have slug's that say they will penetrate ENGINE BLOCKS :-laf so in my strange way of thinking engine block / big bear should be about the same. If not it's going to know that it was hit with something more than just a rock. Bear's have been a HUGE problem this year with more than usual Elk and Deer population. That mean's more trips to town to get game out of camp and to processing shop. Bear's have been such a problem that most hunters want to leave as soon as they down game. DONT LIKE TO HAVE AN ARMED GUARD TO GO TO THE CAN :-laf:-laf I guess
