Well I got a 12 v and I love it so far. And the wife likes the 24 v which is now her truck. What mileage should I get? Will advancing my timeing make a noticable differnce? I got 14. 5 my first tank. I get 15 -16 with my 24 v.

Everything I've read so far says that advancing the timing to 15 or 16 degrees will increase your mileage 2 mpg.

Emerson, your in Duelly heaven, what do you care about mileage? They change the price of fuel every 10 seconds anyway :(

I will admit a dualy is over kill for what I do (almost empty 95% of the time). But I drive 60k or so a year so just trying to sqeek out a little savings.

Hey I understand, I got one because sometimes I pickup 2-50lb bags of dog food at the store :D

12V Milage

I have a 94 dually used mainly for towing a 30' 5th. wheell travel trailer. It has a 4:10 rear end. Towing I average 15. 3 on the highway at 65mph. Empty I get around 23.

Some are going to dispute this, but I have the facts and figures to prove it, although it's not worth arguing about.

The only modifications are a #5 TST fuel plate, gages, and no cat. When I changed the fuel plate it didn't change the milage I was getting enough to talk about.

I got a little over 20 when I first got my truck. 23 according to the errent odometer. After correcting with the right speedo drive gear, it was more like 20. 5.

The the BOMBs started. The worst mod for fuel milage was the bigger tires, they cost around 1 mpg or a little more. Keeping my foot out of it (slow starts) is good for 1. 5 mpg in "normal" driving, more if I really get on it.

My last tank I got over 17, highway is much better than stop and go.
