12 Valve Exhaust Brake

Hi Guys,

I'd like to put an exhaust brake on my 1998 12 valve 3500 dually quad cab with 5-speed manual. Sometimes I tow heavy and it's hard on my brakes especially the fronts on long downhill grades.
I tried using this website's search engine for info but that was not useful. I seemed to remember people saying good things about Pier's Diesel in Canada I think for these installations, but now I can't even find any info on that company.

I live in Northern Idaho and I'm looking for someone who installs these exhaust brakes and knows what they are doing. I change my filters, but I'm not a diesel mechanic. I'd like to get it done right the first time and be done and happy with it. I have heard I will need heavier valve springs.

Any suggestions for what brake and who to take it to for installation somewhere in the Pacific Northwest?
I should also mention this truck is factory stock at this point.

Thank you for any helpful information,
Northrunner

Northruner, I don't know about piers, havent heard much about him latley. But you will need the heaver valve springs on the Exhaust valves. other wise you will get valve float with the exhaust brake. Some dealers include the springs with the brake but check to make sure. The springs are 60# rating, where I think the stock are 30# the intake valves are ok and don't need any replacement. Now you will also want to adjust them all while your there. There are instructions on how to do this, I cann't refere you to any right now but its not hard to do. just more time consuming.
Good luck in doing this!
