Any ideas where to find a 4 cyl ISB?

I am looking to put a 12 Valve in my truck and would like to know who has done this. My truck is a 99 with an auto trans 4x4, what do I need as far as parts to perform this task? I need to get my hands on a 12 valve motor to start or a totaled out truck so all help will help out.

Thanks Charles

stick with your 24v engine, and just p-pump it. to yank that engine, pay for the parts and 12v engine, and getting it running i would think would cost alot more than a 12v timing case, p-pump and injector work. Plus a p-pumped 24v is alot better than the 12v when it comes to "breathing". Plus, in your sig, your 24v head is already o-ringed!

Why? I would give my left nut for a 24v truck.

I just did this to a friends 98. 5 24valve. Let me tell you I have been dealing with wiring issues since day one. I can not get the fuel gauge to work, had to manuall wire in a relay for the fuel cut off solenoid to work, all in all it is a wiring nightmare. I had to hack into the stock harness to make most of the sensors work..... which they do but if you do not have any experience with wiring or access to full wiring diagrams for both systems, i would suggest not even trying it. Other than the wiring isuues, the swap went very easy... and techinically speaking the 12 vlave needs next to nothing for it to run. SO if you would not mind adding in some aftermarket gauges then I would call the swap a cake walk.

.

Mine is the truck he is talking about... and as of yesterday i tryed even changing gauge clusters from a 98 12 valve thinking they may be different, but nope! There's a few people who have done this swap from the past, but just done care to release any info for some reason like it's top freakin secret. . and it really boils my blood why they don't pipe in and help their fellow TDR members... all i need is the bloody fuel gauge to work. :( Otherwise, like CMartin said, the swap itself isn't bad...

Foxracer1:You can have my old motor if you like the 24v so much. . :-laf

What difference does it make if it's 2000+?even 2000's had cracked blocks. . i will sell this whole engine prolly for not much more than i quoted the head price. . need to get it out of a friend's backyard, you can find another block for it and get a couple misc. things that are gone off it and have a great running engine for 1/4 the price of a salvage yard engine. :cool:I'll even deliver to so-cal for you. :D
