yes im working on building a 12 valve up and im going to put it into my 2001 dodge 24 valve. What all is needed to make everything work right.

Thanks

You'll need to run the 24V wire harness, ECM, and all 24V sensors. Crank, maybe the cam sensor (my '98 didn't have one but I think your '01 does), oil pressure, coolant temp, and intake air temp. MAP sensor is not necessary. You'll need adapter fittings for the sensors. The 24V sensors use boss threads with o-rings and the 12V sensors are pipe threads. You might check with Destroked on them. I got mine from a friend. I relocated my oil pressure sensor to the 1/8" pipe hole above the oil filter.

You'll need a tone wheel for the crank sensor with the appropriate number of "teeth". I'm not sure how many the '01 had, my '98 was the 36-1. Got mine from Destroked but last time I looked they didn't have it on their website. The tone wheel on the 24V was on the crank inside the block. Here's a pic of mine:

You'll need to wire up the shut-off solenoid and relays.

You'll need to run the '01 A/C compressor if you want air and you'll need the transmission heat exchanger, lines, and cooler from the '01.

You'll need the intercooler pipe for the 12V that goes between the intercooler boot and the intake horn, the 24V is too short.

You'll need the 12V motor mounts.

I think that's pretty much it.

On a side note, my personal opinion is to stay away from the purple transmission.

Just my personal opinion from my experiences and some of my friends and customers. I have a Goerend's transmission, but there are others out there that also offer good products at good prices. Search any diesel truck forum for automatic transmissions and you'll find the longest, hottest, threads there are.

Forgot probably the most important part. You will need to run the 24V APPS. This will require 24V cables, throttle, cruise, and kick down (TV).

Is there any adapters out there to make that all work i came across some kits for a p pump swap for using the apps will that work or what to i need to make them all work?

I bought a kit here:

Crazy Carl's

Worked nicely except trying to drill holes in the bell crank. I saw where one guy just welded his on. That thing must be made out of unobtanium.

Well I am in the the right thred :)

Ok I too have a 96 12 valve going into a 01 24 valve system, but I have a 5 speed manu trans. Ok I also have the complete harness for both trucks and PCM's. My question is? Which harness to use? The 96 was an automatic, although I don't think that would be a big deal. Would it?

When I did mine I basically made the truck think the engine was a 24V by using all the 24V sensors. With the manual you won't need the APPS. If you want the tach to work you'll need to change the cam gear and install the cam sensor where the timing pin is or come up with a tone wheel and use the 24V cam sensor with it. You will need adapters for all the sensors since the '96 sensors are pipe thread and the 24V sensors are straight threads. You'll need to use the '96 motor mounts.

I don't know Donovan.

When I did mine I used the 24V APPS with the Krazy Karl's kit and the 24V cables.
