12 Valve Throttle Control

1998 12 Valve, AT, 470,000 miles. Driving home yesterday, at a stop sign, no throttle response at all, stopped and verified that the cable is working properly. No engine response at any setting. Had the cruise engaged prior to exiting the Interstate.

TPS?

Vacuum Line?

Injection Pump?

Cruise Module?

You checked the cable, did you check the rod?

I'll second the rod. Mine broke on my 97 with no warning. After inspection I noticed that the rod had been cracked for some time, it looked like someone wasn't aware of the reverse threads on the rod.

Thanks for the help. Turns out it is the rod that broke. New ones expected to arrive by FED EX 2nd day from Geno's garage today.

I got mine fixed for free under the recall about 3 years ago.

Just got it repaired at my local dealer. I'll ask if it still covered under the recall when I pick it up tomorrow.
