Changed fuel plates today in a friends 95 stock auto 12 valve. Installed a #6 plate (230/605). After the install the truck would not fire up. This truck has 180,000 miles on it. The owner of the trk is a friend of my friend who brought the truck to me. He didnt know when the last time the owner had changed the fuel filter. I removed the # 6 plate and put everything back stock and still no start. The trk ran when we drove it into my garage.

I aahave done 4 of these now and never had any problems. Any advise is appreciated. I gave him my trk to drive back home since it is 70 miles from here.

Thanks in advance.

Dave Gardner.

No start problem

Hi Bill.

Yea we uplugged the wiring to the shut down solinoid to move the wire loom out of the way. We sprayed it with LPS electrict contact cleaner and replugged it in during reasembly. Felt it with my finger and when key is turned on and turned to the start position it goes up.

Thanks for the reply.

Dave Gardner.

If the Eng cranks, the only thing that stop it from starting is fuel, crack a line to see if you have fuel coming out, sound like you are not getting diesel|||

Also check to see if your solenoid is hooked to anything.

Found problem. Changed fuel filter and purged all the air out of thesystem with the rubbler button manual pump on the lift pump. Noticed the throttle cabel was shot and this am. checked under the dash and it came clear off the gas pedal. Called Campbell Dodge in Centrailia Wa. and had them run the vin thru the computer to see if had the throttle cable recall done. Guess what? There were 4 outstanding recalls (throttle cable one of them) that had never been done. This Bozo evidently dosent check his mail or beleive in recalls. :( Bad news is this thing will run but not drivable because of the stretched and frayed cable that has become disconnected from the foot feed in the cab. Good news is that chrysler will pay for the tow to Campbell Dodge and do the throttle recall and all the others for free. :)

Again thanks for the help and replys. This is a Great site. :D
