12 Volt Source Needed

I am going to add some blue led light strips in the bed of my truck. I will be installing a switch in the cab to turn these lights on/off. Anyone know a good 12 volt power source to use under the dash? Also, is there a good place to run the wires through to get out of the cab to the bed?

The auto trans leaves you with a composite blank off plate where the clutch would be. That's where I ran all my air lines for my air bags as well as a power feed. The simple way would be a fused tap off the battery to feed the switch and drill a hole large enough through that blanking plate to run the wires.

TJJeeper: Thanks for the tip on the cover plate. I will check it out when I have a chance later. I was thinking about a tap off of the battery but was just wondering if there was a place under the dash to use that might be a little easier and cleaner that was fused.


Anyone know if there is any empty sources in the fuse boxes?
