Competition Fall Brawl 2006 Dyno Results......

Well, before I put the truck in the shop for the winter and seeing I have a few miles on it now and its running A1 I thought it was time to put the big injectors in Haisley 5x18's, my 191 DV's(I think I am going bigger over the winter) and my . 120 injection lines I also got from Haisleys.

Before the swap (Detuned) I had the engine idling at 700rpm and there was a constant rpm. After the swap the idling dropped to 400-500 and would stall out when it loped down. I turned the idle back up to 700rpm and it would fall down to 500 at the bottom of the lope (at the time it was sounding awsome and was blowing donuts when cold) still wanting to almost stall I turned it up to 800rpm which would fall down to 600... . ran awsome! and sounded even better :--)

Took it out for a drive both Highway and City driving and on the road I couldn't really tell a difference than stock. City driving in 1st and 2nd gear there was a bit of surging but it clears up pretty fast.

One thing that I find amazing with the bigger lines is how fast the fuel comes on at about 2000rpm... you can rev it up slowly and once it gets to that point the fuel hits harder than ever!

Anyway, Just from the little amount of time I have had them on I am glad I went with the . 120's isntead of the . 093's like I was going to (Patty sent me the 120's by accident) good thing she did!

So other than the lope... things seem to be pretty "normal?"

Once I get my truck up and running again, I'm debating my next round of mods. Larger lines being one of them.

One thing for sure, the big injectors, lines and DV's free that pump up and let it work normally.

Jim- you are deffinatly right! I would have done it before but the way it is now I would never have passed my emission test up here... Ontario is said to be the next best thing to California when it comes to e-tests!!! What a difference though! Is it normal when running injectors of this size to see boost under no load??? reving up slowly to 3500 I am seeing almost 12lbs :--)

Just drove it around a little more today and I can tell you that for a weekend driver its deffinatly great but I don't think I would want the big lines for a 100% daily driver... its just down load in the first two gears it gets a bit jumpy untill I get the revs up to about 1250 or so.

Another question for you Jim... you having an automatic do you think which do you think would be easier to drive on the road with the lines? I have yet to experiance the govenor bounce feel you described having at crusing speeds though with mine.

The smaller lines typically drive better on the street. The Gov bounce use to happen when trying to cruise over 2K... . 70 mph for me, and it's worse at higher altitudes.

IMO the . 120 lines are more than you need and you would be happier with the . 093. I have a lot more air than you do and I still can't come close to cleaning up the fuel. :)

The stockers might be . 084 or even a little smaller because I remember talking to Haisleys (Patty) about it the first time and she said the. 084 lines won't do much and the jump to . 093's will give noticable improvement so I wonder if stockers are indeed smaller than that??? maybe someone else on here will know the answer.

Patty told me if I want I can just send the . 120's back if I am not happy with them for a set of . 093's but she said to try them pulling first! My fuel pump was set to 750cc's with the 191 DV's so there is a little room to grow with just bolt on's yet if I need to. As far as my turbo goes... for now I am just running my SledPuller 66 (didn't want to run my twins for the break in) but thats all over now and its going in the shop for the winter. When it comes out in the spring it will have twins which will be my SP66 and a HTT Super 4C. I was going to run a Big Brother but this has about the same CFM and has the holset rotation which will work better for my setup.
