At what RPM do you start building boost with your 12 cm exhaust housing?

Idle... hehe. No, but boost does come on strong soon as I hit the juice pedal! I don't have a tach to tell you what boost I can get where, but I can get over 30psi in 4th. If you are considering a switch, and you like to have boost, I can tell you that the 12 will get you more boost a lot faster than the 16. If you have any specific questions, feel free to e-mail me.

That housing has been recommended to me as well - what effect does it have on exhaust temps in long heavy pulls? My temps now max out at 1150 (pre turbo) with the few mods listed below.

With a smaller housing and no intercooler you won't be able to use anything over 25 psi without reaching 1250 F pre-turbo. #ad


(edit) With pump tweaks and the stock 18. 5 housing, with stock injectors there would be heat issues. With other injectors, temps go through the roof

I think your next step is an intercooler! With your gears you would run out of boost with the 12. What are you getting for EGTs now?

Now Gary would benifit from the 12! Higher cost than the 16, unless you have been given one! The 14cm2 would be a perfect app. for a 307 geared auto.

I have a 12cm wastegated housing and a 16cm, if any wants to trade for a 14cm wastegated.

Stab, thank you for responding. This truck is factory intercooled. EGT is 1350 max degrees pulling trailer with race car on it and going up a mile long hill. Pyro is installed pre turbo. Max boost is 32lbs.
