Wow... . what a difference!
Now, in any gear, any speed, a little shove on the pedal and the turbo whistles and the engine responds almost immediately.
Once I change injector's it'll probably do cookies in the parking lot if I wanted (I don't, those tires cost a lot!!!). It's very, very responsive, and I can't say it's lost any power on the high end.
BTW, I moved the timing up a bit (not measured), and changed the turbine housing AND set the wastegate to begin opening at 18-20 PSI. I don't have a boost gauge, but as far as I can tell, it will make full boost at any point except the first few moments from a dead stop.
And what a noise
It never whistled before, it does now. And, at idle, you can hear the turbine whine in the exhaust, and coasting down at slow speeds, there's lots of fluttering whine, too. Even at 25 mph on the flat, it makes some turbo whine mixed with the engine pulses.
I thought the exhaust would be quieter. . . I think it's louder, not quieter.
