Competition Compybonics

I wonder if You guys have any tip to give Me when it comes to build a 12sec truck out of my 2004 2500 automatic heavy duty 4wd truck?

Here in sweden this kind of truck is very rare so the knowledge regarding these engines is almost down to zero.

Anyway, my first question is how much power and torqe do I need to perform a 12sec result?

Second question, Do I need to make any mods to the engine/cyl head? or is it enough changing turbo, intercooler, ecu etc?

Third question, What kind of mods could you recomend? brand? etc... .

I have been looking at Banks diffrent kits and was planing to buy a 5" exhaust system, bigger intercooler, ecu etc...

Many thank's in advance!

Regards,Pelle in Sweden

Transmission is #1, dont skimp here go all out the first time with billet internals and be done with it. Suncoast, DTT, ATS, NADP.

Fueling will be controversial here but I would say a TST box, Smarty programmer, injectors, and a built up CP3 pump with a good lift/supply pump.

Air is intake and exhaust, you can put a big single or twins on it, there are a bunch of diffrent options here with turbos.

Head studs should be sufficent for keeping the head down on the block.

Depending on your weight you should need around 600 HP give or take to put you into the 12's.

When you say billet internals You mean the torque converter?

I have been told to change the lift pump just as You say but what is the CP3 pump, is it the main pump? (dummies level :-laf ) In what way do you mod it?

Which maximum hp can the original turbo perform?

Var i Sverige ar du??

no he means the shafts inside the transmission and other parts---a full upgraded transmission would be the easiest--but shipping may be "for mycket" so parts may be the best way to go if you have good transmission knowledge or a good shop that could call whoever you buy the parts from to get advice if needed---you will need a torque convertor also---

men du maste tanker om pris om du vill ha BANKS, du kan gor battre om priset med annan firmer och battre hastikrafter ochsa---forlat om spelning o grammatik---

as stated by mattymac definitely start with the transmission upgrade then get a fuel pressure guage and EGT guage(exhaust temperature) as a minimum---then either a box or injectors or both---see what happens--then upgrade the turbo and exhaust---head studs as stated would be smart also----just be smart on purchases you don't want to end up buying a set of injectors that are too small and then have to buy another set---also you may want to keep the stock injectors for "besiktning" so you'll be paying a little more on injectors due to the core charge----

transmission

guages

head studs

lift pump(not the in-tank one)

injectors

cp3

box or boxes

turbo or turbos & exhaust

innercooler

above is the order I'd go---lycka til... chris

Thank's for your post Chris!

Do you know wich firm/firms to contact when it comes to parts for the transmission mod and the converter swap?

Do you know what the maximum hp with the original turbo is?

Here in Sweden it's quite easy to get hold of a Holset HX 40 or bigger, 50, 52, 55 etc as they are originaly mounted on several volvo trucks. Maybe the HX40 could fit my spec for 600hp?

When I swap the head studs, do I change to a diffrent gasket also?

Wich size would you recomend for the injectors? brand?

Seams like you either has a Swedish wife or You have been to sweden for some time! :-laf

I live in Vanersborg, 100km north of Gothenburg.

not to thread highjack but I thought the TST removed the speed limiter? Is there not another way to remove that? This is on the 06's. thanks,Ken

No. The Superchips is supposed to and isn't. i am working with Superchips to resolve this problem.

The TST just controls the injectors and provides boost fooling.
