The pulsing is the reverberations found commonly on 24V vp44 equipped rigs. It sends it right back up to the guage. To solve that was a simple 18inch grease gun hose between the sending unit and the vp44. On 12V rigs I don't think there's an issue.
The pulsing is WAY worse on the 12 valve engines with the P7100 pumps. The pressure spikes will wreck a fuel pressure gauge. I use a needle valve tapped into the banjo fitting on the input to the P7100 injection pump. It is just barely open enough to make the gauge work. A gease gun hose is screwed into the needle valve and goes to the fuel pressure gauge sensor. If you use a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on a 12 valve without something to dampen the pressure spikes the gauge clatter will drive you nuts.
I was suprised at the vibration the 12valve has. When I tested my pressure with the manual gauge it would beat the gauge against the door pannel when hanging over the mirror.
