So does anyone upgrade their fuel lines to and from the injection pump and fuel filter?

I had the thought of getting rid of the prefilter and fuel heater and filter assembly and replace that all with a 2000 - 2002 fuel filter assembly. It has the WIF sensor, heater, and easier-to-change fuel filters (and cheapr too).

I'm curious if anyone has done this or if I'm wasting my time reinventing the wheel. The biggest hangup I see is what to do with the small injector overflow line that comes back to the fitting. Secondly can the filter canister & element handle the 30+ PSI coming from the mechanical lift pump? Will the lid leak? The billet cover may be the answer if that's the case. Another consideration is the wiring, but I expect wiring up the WIF and heater won't be a major challenge.

Just thinking out loud looking for some feedback and comments. I thought it would be fun to simplify the system from the tank and upgrade some lines with Aeroquip hoses and fittings. I'm going for simplicity & convenience more than to enhance performance, but I'll take that too!

Thanks all,

Vaughn

My stock system is completely in place and works fine, I then added a Haisley's aux system that goes into the banjo bolt at the fuel pump... ... ... 1 1/2 years and no issues.

The wiring would be very simple and the canister would not leak with the added pressures. The problem it is will not fit with the power break booster in the way. The filter head is too large to squeeze in the little space between the booster and the engine. There is a reason why dodge went to a different, larger filter head in 1997 (the introduction of hydroboost brakes) and then improved upon it.
