Has anyone ever put a 12v head on a 24v block? My uncle is in need of an engine and can buy a rebuilt 24v short block that has had a 12v head put on it for about $4500. His truck is a '98 12v so I know the blocks are the same but as far as I know the pistons are different for the different injector spray patterns. Thoughts, ideas? He is trying to decide weather or not to buy it. He thinks he scored a piston on his original one. Started knocking, pushed clutch in and it died but restarted fine with a new noise from one of the cylinders.

Thanks, Mark

12v heads do not flow near the air of a 24v head, plus as forrest said he would need new injectors and pistons. I do have a 24v head for sale if he is interested.
