Should I insulate under new slab floor or not?

Cup Holder Spring Problem

Some say to use a lugnut and a short piece of pipe, but I just used a lugnut and a regular prybar for the back 2 or3 cylinders, and a rolling head prybar for the front ones. Popped right out.

If you use the pipe, it needs to be just long enough, that the lugnut will touch, and as you tighten it up, the injctor will be pulled up.

You don't even have to get that technical with it, use a piece of 3/4" conduit about 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" and an M14 x 1. 5 pitch nut and it will walk right out... ... you might have $3. 00 in it when your done!

Jim

You can also take an old injector hold down nut thread it in on or two turns, take another old hold down stack it on top then use the lug nut to push against the hold downs. I did this because I was to lazy to run to home depot to get some conduit.

Heck... you can get even lazyer... . (is that a word?)... . I just put my vicegrips on the flat sections lightly... and use a pry bar or a lady finger (L shaped) and they pop right out.

Don't do that - because someone's gonna end up with your cores with the return side all dinged up from using Vice Grips on them.

No no no! use the common sense sides! The 2 that are easily set up for wrench placement!

If you can't figure that out you shouldn't be working on these trucks!

Josh,

Remember that some people lack this basic cognitive ability - these are the folks that shouldn't be allowed to breed. :)

Very Very true! Next time your up (dyno day?) take a look at my injectors... they have been out 3 times... if you can find marks from my vicegrips... . I'll buy you a beer. Oh wait... I'll probably buy you a beer anyway! :p

Josh:

I won't be able to see your injectors clearly - your truck leaks oil (sweats horsepower... ) so bad that the marks left by the vice grips won't be noticeable! :-laf

Matt

I just used a regular slide hammer for the front 4 on mine, the back two I pulled the hold down nuts off, put a 7/8" wrench (box end) over the injector, then put a lug nut on top, with the wrench pivoting on a head bolt, three smacks from a ball peen on the end of the wrench pops the injectors out.

(Josh and Matt, I can see you guys arguing about the vice grip thing still at IRP next year, lol)

Thanks Matt, I have been looking for a good comeback when leaving spots on my friends streets and driveways :-laf :-laf :-laf

My thoughts are... ... It's got 260,000 miles... . Hard miles... . it's intitled to leak oil!

Till I pull the engine and reseal EVERYTHING..... I'll top it off every once in a while!
