Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 12v or 24v block

is there any diff between these two blocks

i'm wanting to fire ring the block and i have

both blocks

Is there a number cast into the 24 valve block beginning with '53'?



If so, you have only one block. Use the 12 valve.



Have both blocks magnafluxed and take your pick if it isn't a dreaded '53'.
