i just bought a 95 12ver-auto, 4x4, 286k, has 4'' straight piped, silencer ring MIA, green air filter. it drives great but has no highway power. the previous owner plugged off the wastegate. is that good or bad?? what mods can i do 4 this truck? i want big power but still get good mileage and not jeapordise reliability!!!

Change the fuel filter first. Then post back if it doesn't help, and we'll go from there.

Do ALL the basics first. Air filter, put wastegate back to normal. Check the AFC hose going to the turbo. Also check to make sure the valves are in spec. Also make sure none of the intake grommets are leaking.
