I am considering upgrading from my current '05 3500 to a newer model. I was reading in TDR about some suspension options that are available on the '13 and '14 2500 and 3500 trucks. If I understand what I was reading, it sounds like they have an upgraded front suspension and there are options of airride suspension for the 2500 and a modified suspension with some sort of airride option on the 3500. In reading this forum I have not come across any comments about these options. I would be interested in anyones experience with them ore any knowledge you might have about them. My wife is tired of the harsh ride on our 3500 '05, which is better then the '96 & '98 2500s we had before.

DClark,

Regarding 2104 trucks:

2500 - available with heavy duty coil rear spring 5 link OR air ride rear springs (not both)
3500 SRW - available with leaf springs (2 stage, no auxiliary). I am not sure if the air ride rear springs are available on the SRW (?)
3500 DRW - available with leaf springs (3 stage, with auxiliary) OR available with optional leaf spring/air ride combo in the max tow package. This is a single leaf spring with an air spring installed on top of it. Intention is a smooth controlled ride unloaded, but with air support when fully loaded.

All front springs are heavy duty coil 3 link. Air springs in front are not an option in the front of the HD's (unlike the 1500).

I had a look at the 2500 this weekend with rear coils, and that rear end is stiff/strong but not harsh like a leaf spring. I think Dodge got that right. Now only if they would offer a slightly stronger spring in the 1500 (2015 maybe?). Even 10% stiffer would be ideal.
