I would stay away from stop leak in your A/C system. Seems to do more harm than good. I know that it clogs the venturi screen, do you need to ask how I know this ? It is better to find the leak. I'm driving a '95 and had a slow leak for a number of years. Finally found it when the A/C clutch went bad and decided to replace the compressor and not just the clutch. It was leaking at compressor seal where the the clutch is, never would have found it. If your compressor is old, it might be time to replace if you're planning on keeping your truck forever, as I am. At Rock Auto around $200. 00

It maybe leaking somewhere else as well. It's just that my A/C worked even though compressor was leaking slowly. Would top off 134a every couple of months during the hot months and then check it every spring. I quess it was easier than finding the leak back then!

just pick up a can of the regular r134a and a hose/gauge set. I had to charge my 99 again yesterday. Took 1-1/4 12oz cans to get to around 40 psi and make the compressor stop cycling every 4 seconds.

not sure where the leak is, but I can get 8-9 months out of the a/c before it stops blowing cold.

I just used one of these kits to recharge my 02. there is some good info at the link. A couple of weeks ago the a/c was only putting warm air on a day it was 95 out. The last time I had to add any freon was 2 years ago and at that time only one bottle was needed. This time I put 3 bottles into it to bring it up to 40lbs. It's putting out the coldest air it ever has now.
