I have a 99 ram 24v I'm still learning how to use my smarty but my boost shows around-14 at idle and I have to get rpms up at 3k plus to barley see positive pressure, truck is all stock that I know of I did take the silencer ring out of the turbo and I tried with and without the air filter not much of a difference anyone have any ideas, thanks

Is the touch up to date on software?

Boost is the delta between ambient pressure and intake pressure, so it’s calculated. If the software is the latest then look at the pressure sensors to see if one is out of whack.

Well I do not know where you live but air pressure at sea level is just a bit over 14.5 psi. I am unfamiliar with the Touch but on my old smarty which did not really have a screen to view running parameters on I cant remember if there was an option how to show the pressure ie absolute or PSIA vs as AH64ID mentioned just the boost value or PSIG which he described.

At idle you should see no boost, sitting in park or neutral just revving the engine up will show little if any increase in boost as there is no load on the engine.

I guess first off where are you reading the boost from - a mechanical gauge, electronic gauge, the "Touch" screen or some other monitor?

I updated the smarty and its alot better not its bouncing around 0.00 a little negative a little positive at ide so I'm assuming that's where it should be with no load building boot

That sounds right!

You should be able to update the refresh rate, slow it down, and I think you can remove a digit on the reading too.
