Off Roading Atlas Winch

Off Roading Just curious, What does the 4s mean in 4X4

Now that there is a big bad east coast pull truck on the west coast maybe Scott will dyno it at Imler's or Ponci's and we can all settle the 1400 or 1500 hp rumors. Scott has always been open to a public dyno and criticism from you east coast boys. I will pay for the dyno if Scott brakes 1400hp and one of you east coasters pay if he does not. Maybe Jwilliams3 will put his money where his mouth is. Scott sorry to put you on the spot if you do not want to dyno that is fine I just thought this might be fun and end all the "estimating" of east coast hp.

TJ,

If you had a lick of sense you would know this truck (engine) has seen dyno time.

If the appropriate people want to post some sheets or numbers maybe they will. If not thats ok too because you wouldnt believe it anyways.

As far as me putting my money where my mouth is...

I do all summer long in the heart of truck pulling country known as Indiana. What do you do again with yours?

Last time I checked you couldnt even beat a truck with one turbo with your "TWINS" :-laf :-laf :-laf

This horsepower thing must really have you in a tizzy huh?

*Might as well move this one to the banter forum! :)

No it does not have me in a tizzy I just thought this could once and for all end the east coast west coast issue. I will pay for Scott's dyno and be the first to say I was wrong if he puts 1400hp TO THE WHEELS. Are you willing to do the same if he do not break 1400hp. Oo.

I pull, race and dyno my truck all summer long.

TJ,

I dont think a chassis dyno will load the turbo's correctly to make the power on the dyno (for a truck like this). I know this sounds like a cop out to you or whatever but these trucks were not setup to be run on chassis dyno's.

Heck I can't see someone trying to slip a 4 disc clutch while trying to get the chargers lit and then not doing it or worse yet getting wheel hop or sending parts flying.

I really think you need to hook to the sled in the same class as one of these trucks... then maybe you might understand (but probably not) how much the power difference is.

Maybe Scott will chime in and enlighten some of us.

You have to be crazy to think any of us will run our mod trucks on a chassis dyno. Do you relize what speeds they would have to achieve to get a full boost run. And like justin said ,speaking for myself-I would never be able to get chargers the size of mine to light on a chassis dyno.

SUPERFLOW load dyno will melt it down, if you want.

These trucks are beyond the capabilities of the Dyno Jet, they are not built to accelerate, they are built to go wide open and stay there.

I bet it would put down double of what Scotts old truck made in real life. ;) :-laf :D

TJ put down the weed Bro :D I will not be chassis Dynoing the new truck no matter who pay's for it. I will bring it to dynos though and set up for display if need be :D

Bingo... ... A Superlow (now Taylor) with bring a semi truck to its knees. But I have also seen them inflicked major carnage to little trucks drivetrain like ours. But they should work well for a puller.

Ok so can you tell me at what hp level or at what charger can you no longer dyno them because Maddog has dyno over 1000hp so where is the cut off.

You said if I had a lick of sense I would know this engine has seen dyno time then can you explain to me why the charges light on the engine dyno but not on a chassis dyno?

Chassis dyno will not work because of gearing, gearbox configuration, axle width, centrifical (sp?) clutch (ie: there is no static pressure plate)

Engine dyno is driven right off the back of the crank and can emulate real world conditions.

I understand the axle width issue but can please explain what the issue with the gearing and geardox are?

Ummm, yeah... ... ... ... . you would not be able to get it into overdrive on a chassis dyno... or 2nd for that matter :-laf

Might that be because there's only two gears: forward and reverse? :)

This is more better...

I think Dave Dunbar should come in here, and explain why the Dyno Jet is inferior on a Modified Diesel pulling truck, since he is our resident how wonderful Dyno Jets are Dude!!!! ;) :D Oo.

LOL LOL LOL ------LMFAO

this has to be the dumbest conversation I have ever heard, scott you have vultures out here that already want to rip apart YOUR truck just to see how it works. the best dyno for any pull truck is 300 ft at a time, If you win then you had enough. . To the fella in reno you say you pull your truck all summer long. . we made 8 pulls a and never saw any bad to the bone truck that smokes all the way down the track, 'cept from rosa, acampo, and lodi.

good luck scott we cant wait till pullin season

brandon and duncan

Well it is a quick change drop box, we could get it up to speed and flip the gears real quick whiole its runing :-laf NOT !!!!!

You should know better you can't do it while it is runnin, you need to shut the engine off and do it while it is coasting!!
