142 MPH Chevy Cruze?

Someone told me that his Chevy Cruze with the 1.4 turbo would run 142 mph. Is that possible? That would certainly surprise me. Now I don't care whether it will or not, I just want to know about this guy's character, so I'll know whether or not I want to have any association or dealings with him. Mark

He just got the 24 inverted. I see no reason this car couldn't go 142 mph if you can get it in the back of my truck. bg

Isnt that the gas version? I believe the diesel is a 2.0 liter...


Edit: Scratch that, just realized the OP was asking about the gasser

It is possible, if it's got some work done to it. Stock, no way. I had a 1.8 turbo Beetle that would easily run 150 mph. The Bug was not stock of course.
