I tow heavy (20-30K) and on a recent trip I noticed that under 1850rpm my post EGT would climb to around 900F. I'm running a stock HX35 with module and elbow and stock injectors with a full 4"exhaust. I had to run that speed because of the speed limit in Illinois for trucks, and I'm geared 3:54. Would I benefit most by getting the hybrid-modified HX35 along with which housing? Which one should I try to get and if I change injectors later which one will suit me the best. I don't race, but just want a really strong pulling setup that won't overheat on extended trips pulling heavy.

What turbo?

NScott, I went with the PDR HX35 with a 14cm wastegated. I also tow not quite as heavy but it works great for me. Keeping your temps down by grabbing a lower gear. I have heard from some that the 16cm is a little doggy on the bottom end and they don't have a waste gate on them. BTW I have a Edge comp and DDII's.

There are alot of people in the N. W. that are running DDIII's comp with the PDR HX35. Eric

NScott,

900 degrees wouldn't make me nervous at all if measured after the turbo. 1100 makes me watch it REAL close, and 1300 would make me stop doing what I was doing.

Thats gotta be warm..... 1300° post turbo?

900° post turbo is even getting warm, depeding on the particular truck because pre turbo and post turbo temps can vary as much as 600°.
