I Was Thinking About Buying A 14cm W/gated Housing For My Turbo? Is This A Good Or Bad Idea? Any Info Would Be A Great Help. Thanks. The Other Day I Was Towing 14,000 Lbs And The Truck Had Desent Power But Could Not Use 5th Gear, The Pyro Would Sky Rocket. The Best Was 4th Gear And 700-900 Deg. Any Other Ideas To Make The Power More Use Able?

it's a nice mod, but the problem with it is that it's overpriced... at $350-400, you're almost halfway to an S300 based hybrid that will run CIRCLES around an HX35-14wg

what altitude are you at?

what is your timing at?

if you've got the fuel to support it, I would do an 18. 5cm non-gated housing that you can pick up for $50 long before I'd drop the coin on a 14cm gated housing.

like I said, they're nice, but they're expensive, and I doubt you're going to get the magic bullet you're looking for

With 3. 55's and pulling 14k in 5th even a new turbo alone isnt gonna keep you out of the red on egt's. 5th gear wasnt designed for pulling that much weight, hard on the drivetrain too! keep it in 4th

I had a 96 with 3. 54 and an automatic. I don't remember the timing set up, but I had a 0 plate and 370 marine injectors. I had a 16cm. non-waste gated housing and had pretty good luck with egts in OD. I only hauled about 8k pounds. Barry.
