Well today, I decided I would change the Redline MTL transmission fluid out of my NV5600 6 Speed.
I went out and purchased a 17mm hex head socket at Auto Zone (pack of 3 for 7. 99).
I had to use a standard type oil bottle and a hose attachment to get the oil into the fill hole.
Next I drained the oil from the bottom hole of the PTO cover on the drivers side.
To my immediate surprise the oil was a clear and very clean yellowish/reddish color.
The oil was not dirty at all!! I was really surprised being that I am running a dual disk clutch that is really hard on the synchro's. I figured there would be a mixed of flakes in the oil.
Well, I am also running an EATON filter kit on the PTO cover and this probably contributes to my oil results. Anyhow, the oil was really clean and I was impressed!!
The oil did not need changed. Next time, the current batch of MTL that replaced the previous I will run it 25k miles and see how it goes.
