I know this should probably be posted in the OTHER forum, so I apologize in advance.
A friend bought a new '04 1500 Hemi QC 4x4 last week. It is equiped with AWD (4x4 switch reads 4x4 low, 4x4 high and AWD). I never heard of AWD in these trucks, but I only really pay attention to the 2500 and 3500's. Apparently it is new for '04. It was an option ($275. 00 or so. )
Anyway, he has an intermittent vibration. The front driveshaft was removed and the vibration went away. They swapped a shaft from another new truck on the lot and vibration is back. They called another dealer in Vernon and they drove a brand new one they had in stock and it vibrated too. This vibration occurs at different RPM's and speeds and only seems to do it when some power is applied (ie. no vibration going downhill). Since the front end spins whether there is a driveshaft or not and since the vibration goes away with no shaft, it makes sense that the driveshaft is the problem
Anyone have any opinions? I'm am thinking a bad batch of driveshafts.
Thanks
Dave
