Cummins recently changed their website and have all new updated information for our engines. I noticed this says we must check valves at 150k.

This is a change, since the FAQ used to say that the HPCR engines don't need a valve check until 350k.

What's going on here?

Maybe the engines are holding up TOO well and the service departments at the Dodge dealers are starting to feel the pinch... . So they gotta get folks in there for more maintenance items.

It seems to me that it has always been 150k. I believe the 350k you are thinking of is when Cummins recommends overhauling the engine.

My neighbor with 140k on his asked the service writer at the dealer near us about the 150k valve adjust. HIS service manual says NOT needed. I said I thought he wa wrong. He showed us the page and the factory repair manual does NOT call for valve adjust. I just sent them a link to this thread.

Valve Lash Adjustment

According to my 03 owners manual it shows valve adjustment at 150K miles or 150 months in schedule A section, but shows in schedule B to do it at 135K. What's up with that. I don't have a service manual to go by yet.
