You would move the turbo mounted brake to the downpipe inline style under the cab. The brake for this is different. Probably bout as cheap to off your old brake in the classifieds and start with the proper one, if you go HX 40.

Seems like I priced another casting and hardware and was going to re-use the vacuum can and butterfly? It think the vendor sold me a new inline brake less the rest of the kit and some more lengths of vacuum tubing. It was easy to lengthen the wiring harness with some heat shrink, solder and wire.

Good luck and maybe the 16cm2 will hold your egt's in check.

Brian,

I've had mine that way for a few years, now. I went with a hybrid 35/40 that handles my EGT's nicely, and spools like the stock turbo.

Thanks Guys!

What exactly is the hybrid 35/40? What advantages does it have over a stock 35 with the 16cm housing?

Where do i get it?

HX40 with direct mount exhaust brake

I ran a full HX40/16 with a direct mount exhaust brake for a couple of years. I just had an adapter made up for the back of the 16 housing. It did choke it down quite a bit by going from the 4" down to 3", but I still got 420hp with some egt's issue's, but they were controllable. Now that I have went to twins I had to take it out and will have to purchase a remote mount. It can be done with a little work if you decide to go that rout. This might help or it might not depending on what you want to do.

It's a larger pinwheel and compressor housing, but still uses the 35 bearing housing, and the 16cm housing. Got the parts here. It made a big difference hp wise, and EGT wise when I put in the big injectors.

I talked briefly with Paul at HTT today and i'm even more confused  (I know, not hard to imagine)

He suggested a Stage III setup, HX40/16cm housing. If my PacBrake will mount to my 16cm housing, can HX40 attach to my housing?

I'm missing something here... ...
