I recently replace my VP-44 and have driven the truck about 500 miles afterwards. All seems ok with the VP-44 but now I am having the truck just quit and is throwing a 1693 code. The driving indications were that I was pulling into a parking spot and was about to put the truck into "park" when it lurched forward a bit and stalled. It seemed that the torque converter went into lock up and since I was at idle it stalled the engine and then it would not start. I put a OBDII scan tool on it and was "touring" around when I decided to try and start it and it miraculously started and ran fine so I was able to get back to the house. I was able to start it ok several times after the initial failure with no problem but today when I got ready to go to work it ran for about 4 miles and quit with similar symptoms to when it quit the first time.

I am unable to determine the source of the problem, any ideas guys, PCM, ECM or something simple? I have a Banks Power Pak on the truck which could be an additional interesting potential issue I suppose.

My thanks to Kraut65 and dieseldemon for the suggestions. What it turned out to be was an intermittent Fass DDRP. I installed the DDRP about 4 years ago and apparently the bearings went so it would work for a while then quit. I replaced it and all seems ok at least for now.
