Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 1693 code

I have been getting a 1693 code on and off for a couple of weeks. I looked up the code and i believe it is an associated communication error. What does that mean? The tread that i found said this code goes along with other codes. I have checked many times and I only get the 1693. Truck is running good no problems to report just a light on the dash. Any ideas???

1693 means that the ECM has detected a code in the PCM (powertrain control module). You need a scanner to find out what it is, and to erase them.
