16cm exhaust houseing ..?

Hello again . . . . I have been going thru many pages here in an effort to learn as much as I can . . worked on gassers . . most of my life . . i keep reading about 16cm houseing for turbo for 1st gen. . . how do i find out what size mine is ??. . 1993 D350 cc. . I still have not recieved te manuall I orderd. . so only have woners manull to give me any info . . besides here . . Thanks 1993 D350 CC LB, NV 450o conversion. .

Unless it has been changed, your truck should have an 18cm housing. Some housings have numbers cast into them showing the size (look on the back side - you may need a mirror).

It should be cast in between the flange and the word Holset on the exhaust housing I believe. Just for reference, I have a 14cm on mine and thoroughly dig it.

Ok thanks . . I looked . . its says 18. 5 CM ... and you say 16Cm is good for all around driveing . . long haul with a 26' tag-along? cross country etc. ? if so where would i order it > I am California 50 miles north of LA . . thanks

I bought a 16cm from HTT and it really made the truck more driveable, I really like what it did for mine, but I think a 14cm would have been even better, just my opinion.

I noticed a big difference when I swapped in the 16cm housing, but mine came with a 21.

You can call high tech turbo or pdr or many other parts advertisers from this web site and shop around for the best info. and price. Hot rod diesels is putting one on my truck as we speak.

You can also post a want ad in the TDR classifieds on this website. I went from a 21cm to an 18. 5 and it has made a noticable difference in low end power as well as cool turbo sound (4" exhaust helps too ). I'm sure going to a 16 or 14 would be a night and day difference for around town driving. Can't speak to towing…

I recently bought injectors and a 16cm turbo houseing the price was right and the power was better. If your still looking go to www.ksfuel.com and call to order its cheaper! I think the turbo housing was right around 150. Hope you find what your looking for.

If you're leaving everything fairly stock, I'd go 14. I really like mine.
