I have heard most people say that the 16 housing is ideal for the 12valve but not the 24valve. What would the good and bad results be on a 24valve?

Also, who can give me the specifics on the H2E with a 16 housing.

Thanks,

Dan

You will have to change the complete turbo. With The stock hy35 turbo, there are no 16cm housings available.

Those who have used the hx35 and 16 cm housings on the 24v motor say it is slow to spin up then goes into boost real hard.

Just the nature of the beast.

I suggest you talk to Piers.

For the power that I was going for, Piers suggested the 14cm housing with his modified HX35. Of course that was before he started modifying the HX40’s.

Hes got a 99 5 Speed... so he has the HX35 with the changeable housing. The HY35's appeared on the 2001 autos.

I can't comment on the 16cm² housing itself because never had one... . I've always used the smallest housings I could for the fastest spoolup. The biggest housing on any turbo I have ran has been the "Regular" B1 which is about a 16 to 17cm² ... or maybe bigger? That "brand" of turbo isn't rated in the same manner as the Holeset.

I'm not sure if you have enough fuel to require moving upto the H2E, ecspecially a 16cm&sup2 housing... ... ... now maybe a H2e w/12cm² custom housing might work. I have not yet tried an H2e on my truck..... most likely won't anytime soon.
