OK all
Now that I have the PW injectors put in, I need to replace the housing to get rid of the turbo lag at take off. If I order a new 16 cm housing, will it simply bolt in with out any other mods or will I need to make some changes? I'm wondering about the down pipe out of the housing. Do the housings come with all needed gaskets? ( the injectors did not come with all things that were needed, had to re-use the drain line sealers and the O-ring dust seals at the top of the hold down nuts )

One more question - I went from 15 lbs boost to about 21 lbs empty when the injectors were replaced. Would like to get into the high 20's. Will the housing alone do this or will the pump need to be tweaked?

Stan

Stan,
No modifications necessary to downpipe, my 16cm housing came with gaskets. Instructions on TST website, also some good information on this thread www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//Forum2/HTML/000351.html
I don't know if you can go to it with that but if not it is a thread titled "How to identify 16cm turbo housing" that I started 6/8/2000 in this forum.
Hope this helps, I'm still patiently waiting for my PW injectors.

I also bought my 16" from TST. Great instructions but my only slowdown was getting the housing separated. Do like they suggest, tapping slowly around the edges until it loosens up. Then everything worked just great. I also painted the turbo while it was off. Looks much better. As for the housing, any paint I tried (hi-temp even) peeled right off within the first ride ;(

It takes more fuel to make more boost!
I have the PW injectors, 3 1/2 exhaust, and pump slightly turned up, 25-26 lbs.

Caleb,
I noticed from your signature that you have VDO Vision gauges on you 93. It is my plan to install VDO's to monitor egt and boost on my 92. I am having trouble finding post mounts, where are yours mounted and do you know where I can obtain them?

Thanks,
Al

Al,
I have my gauges mounted on the dash in a pod I made, they sit against the windshield a few inches in from the pillar.
Autometer makes single and dual gauge pillar mount pods for 86-93 Dodge trucks,
Single is part #15199
Dual is part #15198
You can chek them out @ www.autometer.com
You can see the VDO gauges @ www.vdona.com
You can order both from www.summitracing.com
Hope this helps.
HAPPY RAMMIN!

Nutty/Mopar, If you want paint that will not burn off and make your turbo and exhaust manifold look like a new casting, buy some Stainless Paint from the Eastwood Co. I have used this on both my Dodge and my 56 F-100 for years and it has never burned off. Still looks new.

Good info, Walmor. I'll have to get some of that paint and try it.

Thank you

Autometer has 2 pillar gauge mounts, a single and a double. Part number for the double is
: 15198 And fits 86 thru 93. It fastens onto the existing platic trim with four 3/16 Plastic rivets (bugger buttons). The wiring passes through a hole you make in the trim. Got mine from BD but should be avilable at a local speed shop.

For those of you shopping for the 16cm2 housing, my local cummins delaer gave me the best deal, a used unit off a 4 cylinder in for recon, for free. All he wanted was my old 21 to send back with the 4 cylinder, and he charged me $75 labor for the install. What a guy! Cummins gateway, Columbia, MO...

Doesn't get any better than that! Are you buddies with the dealer? (if you wern't, you should be now)
