I have a 2000 4x4 club cab 2500 with 2" leveling kit on the front and 315/75/16 tires. They rub slightly at full lock and I've been told that aftermarket rims will cure that issue. Should I got with a 16x8 or 16x10 rim?

The width doesn't have as much to do with how the tires rub. Back spacing on the wheel does. Keep in mind that as the wheel is set to keep the tire from rubbing the more load it places on the hub bearings and ball joints.

For tires that wide the 16x10 rim is a better choice. You'll have to pull the specs on your current wheels to find out what the back spacing is. Then you'll need to measure how much the tire overlaps onto the control arm.

Or you could do like how my truck is. The previous owner put the same size tires on the stock rims. The lower control arm was modified to give clearance. The lower lip of the control arm where the tire was rubbing was ground off flush with the rest of the arm. square stock steel (rectangle) was inserted into the botton of the arm and welded in to keep it structurally strong. Works really well.

really glad you posted and i wish i would have. i bought and had shipped 16X10, installed them and was really dissapointed they just plain didnt fit and looked horrible, get the 16X8s i can email you some pics of my 315s if you want.

16x10 on mine. I like the fat tire look but it really isn't practical for hauling and plowing. I also get a little bit of tire rub on the fender when "using" the suspension. 4. 00 backspacing on mine. (I think)

Maybe get more backspacing or stick with 16x8.
