I was wondering if anyone could do me a huge favor:

Next time any of you removes a wheel I was wondering if you could take a couple measurements for me. I want to find out what the backspacing is on the '03 SRW trucks.

Lay a straightedge across the back side of the wheel, touching the edges of the rim but NOT the tire. Then measure down to the backside of the mounting pad where the bolt pattern is.

Can anyone tell me if the '03s have 8" wide wheels?

Thanks much,

Vaughn

Some do. The aluminum rims that are optional on the SRW trucks are 17x8". KC posted a list of tire/rim combos along with GVWR's a month or so back. I think the steel SRW rims are 17x7 or 17x7. 5.

Thanks David, I found the post.

What I need to find out now is the backspacing.

What I am getting at is I have a set of 18" Weld Racing wheels that work on 99 and older Rams and I want to find out if they will work on the new trucks. I bought them for my 2001 only to find out Dodge did a major change to the offset (went from 10 to 40mm) for 2000-2002 and NO ONE makes an 18" wheel that works on these trucks (without sticking out at least an inch beyond stock, which may be OK to some guys with 4x4s running big tires and a lift but not on 2wd trucks).

Soooo. . . if anyone gets a notion to remove a wheel, I would appreicate it mightily :) :) :)
