Bought a 3990105 lift-pump to carry with me as a spare. My pump is still OK so I've never changed one. Other than the obvious by just looking is there anything a man might miss that would be needed for a beside the road change out? Like maybe a bolt and nut to stop the fuel flow at the banjo from the tank. Any thoughts will be helpful.

The banjo fitting on the supply side won't leak, just keep it at the same level where it usually sits.

A couple extra banjo bolt washers would be a good idea, they can make themselves scarce during a replacement of the pump...

The nuts on the mounting bolts for the bracket (top of pump) are 1/4-20 if I remember correctly, you'll need a 7/16 wrench or socket.

You'll also need a step stool that won't slip, it's much, much faster to do it from above. I know, I tried it both ways. It's tight, but not impossible.
