Went to the dealer today, turned on high idle function revision now as dated June 28, 2007. I have the whole TSB, I haven't read it but they are up to revision B. My truck has the revision A software as of right now.

going to beach to pop fireworks. They didn't put sticker on truck but tech had star scan and it showed software number.

This is sounding like Microsoft where they make service packs then updates for the service packs and patches for the service pack updates.

TSB Revised to 18-033-07 REV. B

Just had my bulletin done today... ... . 10:00 am appointment, but they were already involved with a dealer in-stock unit when I got there.

18-033-07 REV. B was issued 06/28/07 and supersedes REV. A. I guess procrastination paid off in the form of one less trip to the dealer... ... . for now anyway. :-laf

Took around 35 mins to complete... ..... and some additional time because the dealer was experiencing some internet difficulty.

I was down to 4 gals remaining, so I re-fueled within 1/2 mile of the dealership. I'll have a fresh tank of fuel to make some comparisons in regards to fuel economy. Tank #1 was 14. 591; Tank #2 was 14. 457; Tank #3 was 15. 051..... all hand calculated. Hopefully the fuel economy won't nose-dive ! :-laf

Just talked to my dealer Frontier dodge in lubbock, tx, he recommended I bring my truck in to be flashed next week, said it would take 45 minutes to 1 hour. I have not had any problems with my 6. 7. Knock on wood. I have just over 6000 miles avg 14. 5 mpg.

Dealerships, they will do anything to sell you a car, but when it comes time to work on one, not so easy. I purchased a 6. 7 from Dave Smith Motors in Kellog ID, drove home to Tacoma. Called the local dealership, "TOM MATSON DODGE" and asked about getting the new flash put in, "Rev A". They asked where did I get the truck, followed by, we will not do it untill there is a problem with your vehicle. I told them isn't this to prevent problems? The service manager of "TOM MATSON DODGE OF AUBURN WA" said, it doesn't matter, we will not reprogram the new Rev A unless there is a problem. Any idea's from you guys? Should I go with what she said?

TSB's are to be done regardless of an issue or not as I understood it, it's a warranty fix. . Go to a different dealer. If not, maybe have to find the name and number of the district manager.

Personally, I'd call the dealership back from a different number (just in case). And tell them you bought the truck from them and see if you are treated any different. In the end if they do it with out question. Once you have keys in hand, go have a talk with the owner of the place for giggles :)

At this point I am on the fence as to even asking for the re-flash as I haven't had any problems. Is Dodge not covering this re-flash as a warranty issue (thus not paying the service center) unless there is or has been a problem? From the sounds of some of the experiences posted in this forum by owners it would seem that some 'preventative service' would be in order here or am I completely out in left field? Dodge knowing there is the potential for a problem and not taking some steps to prevent customer dis-satifaction doesn't make feel real warm and fuzzy. The percentage of failure must be so low that it's not much of a prority to be proactive with the fix?

the tech that did mine said they do not pay them much to do them

he also said they like to see a problem before doing them

but if you make enough noise they will probably do it for you

I had the same problem with Dodge of Bellevue. They wanted to diagnose "the problem". Dishman recommends Lynnwood Dodge so maybe call them. I know that is quite a ways from Tacoma for you though.
