I just came across a set of new 275/75/18 tires with 47 miles on them. Any suggestions for 18" wheels at a good price?

I'm not familiar with 18" wheels but I suspect they are for looks on a light truck not function. What is the weight rating?

The tires are from a Ford F350 with the FX4 offroad package. A customer of mine upgraded to to super swamper style tires and their old tires are available.

I am not looking for any more load capability (or any less). Just want to utilize the tires.

I would guess that by the time you buy quality 18" wheels that the tires will mount on, you will have paid for a set of quality 16" tires that will fit on your truck and you won't be stuck with buying the more expensive 18" tires to fit your 18" wheels once the free 18" tires wear out.

That being said, often you can often find 17" Dodge oem wheel AND tire takeoffs with low miles and for a decent price ($400 to $900) depending on tire wear from people change out their perfectly good oem wheels on their new trucks for "bling" wheel/tire combos. As a matter of fact, in the past I have seen ALOT of good deals for oem wheel/tire takeoffs on Craigslist/Texas.

Just check the 4 wheel stores I am running 18" look good plan on spending about 200. 00 for starters

Bernie,

My understanding is Furd wheels are metric sized and will not fit your hubs. Be careful, the size may appear to be the same but you could bolt them up and find out they don't fit and the vibration from being mounted off center will all but throw you out of your truck.

Looks like he is just taking them off the Ferd wheels. It is very important on our trucks as they are "hubcentric"

That is how I got my last set of wheels/tires. I bought a set of take off 17" Dodge OEM with the Michelen LTX tires on them, probably 70% tread, for about $900 delivered.

Now I have the 17" chrome clad steel (getting to look pretty bad, but only for use with snow tires), and 17" aluminum wheels for summer.

My thought with the 18" tires I got was if I could find a decent 18" wheel for about $150 each, I would have $600 in to a set with 100% tread. Just an idea.

I ran 18" Eagle wheels before I convered to duals. Offset is extremely close to stock and a higher load rating than OEM.

Larger rim/tire combo fills up the wheel well nicely too.

There is a lot more 10 ply tire options with 18", especialy if want larger than Dodge 265's.

Wow, I didn't know that. I had always thought 18" wheels were decorative wheels used on 1/2 tons. I don't know of seeing any 18" wheels and tires. What are they used on?

16" Wheels will not fit over the calipers on a 3rd gen.

Wheelsforless.com is where I purchased my American Eagles, they dropped shipped them out of Kennebell,TX.

Wheels, center caps, lugs, steel valve stems, absolutely no problem.

I believe Ford also has a 20" wheel option on the 250/350. There could be some advantage to tire life.

I have a set of the Kore 18" Weld wheels that I would sell, but they are not very cheap. They are the ones that were specifically made for the 3rd gen trucks with the factory spec's for offset, backspace, etc. They do look nice on the truck.
