WhooHoo, I feel good.

I just went to Kelly Blue Book and priced my truck.

They said for a private individual the selling price was $19,350

Here is an address, www.kbb.com the site is very easy to use, and is free.

Try it!,

You might be suprised, but then again, maybe not,, LOL.

I sure wish they could add a few Grand for all the sweat and blood I put in the truck installing the gauges, etc, etc.

Whohoooo

Private Party Value = $29,190

Truck is 1 ½ years old and has 20,500 miles. I paid $31,200 for it new! A month or two ago the dealer offered me $27,000 to trade it. Not too shabby for a lil reg cab :D

Here is what www.nada.com said about my truck.

Total Average Trade-In: $19,500

(*)Total Average Retail: $23,150

Nada made me have a bigger head for my truck.

Hopefully I'll sdtill be able to get in the drivers door. :)

P. S. I even had to deduct $500 for not having an AUto transmission.

and $1,600 for mileage

The problem that I have found is I can't get KBB or NADA to buy anything that I have... ... ... ..... I use the "Black Book" system in my dealership... ... ... . ;) They give "real" auction numbers.

Kelly and NADA are good references. If you want to know how much cash you can have in your hand right now, go to Carmax. They are the only ones willing to put their money where their mouth is, and you're not obligated to sell.

Here's what they said about my truck.

Kelley:

Private Party - 27,395

NADA:

Avg Trade - 25,250

Avg Retail - 29,075

Car Values

I have found www.edmunds.com gives a more realistic value than kbb. My wife just traded in her car ('98 Lexus GS400) for a 2000 LX470 and the dealer gave her $500 more than what edmunds showed as dealer trade in value. I also got the dealer to sell her the LX470 for edmunds dealer trade in price. The dealer is now advertising her old car for $1000 more than edmunds true market value price.

With anything used- I have always found the best way to find out what its worth is to go shopping for it. If you want to sell your truck, go find one used that is (as close as possible) like yours. It will give you a better idea. Find a few, then make your assumption. KBB is a joke- they are way off. Reality is the best Blue Book- If you don't have a buyer willing to pay it, then it ain't worth it!

Tried to trade mine this past weekend. 10k to 11k best offer I got for a trade. I have a 99 3/4 ton with 96 k on it. No bank will lend anyone money to buy one with over 85 or 90k. Don't care what the books say. Just try to trade and you will find out the real world. Time to start lying to child bride about something broke and start modifying. (evil grin )HEE HEE
