Need some new tires and thinking about the 19. 5 plunge. I've got a 96 2500 and looking at the Rickson Eliminators with Cooper C140's on them. Wondering if anyone has had any bad experiences with the 19. 5's and if anyone know what the tires are speed rated for. I have heard many of the commercial tires in this range are only rated for 75mph. Not that I'm planning on speeding but it is kind of nice to roll along a little faster when crossing Montana. Any feedback or suggestions would be great!

I've run them on and off for 5 years. I have them currently on my 04 and I won't go back. They are rated for 75, but that's on a normal application. You're truck is way lighter than the truck these normally go on. You won;t have any problems running them up to or over 75.

My Michelins are rated to 75mph as well, but of course nobody wants to drive that speed all the time, so I dont. I havent seen any bad affects from driving this speed, while towing up to 10k. The tires may get warm, but they arent wearing funny at all. I also have Ricksons and I have to say that their quality is amazing. I love the 19. 5s and wont go back. Just make sure you get 12 ply instead of 16, they ride alot nicer.

I have the Michelin 245 70R 19. 5 ..... 12 ply "F" rated tires..... The same diameter as a 285 tire but the tread of a 265-16"

Just got back from a 2400 mile vacation and the tires were awesome!!! I have a 15K trailer and I averaged 9-10 mpg in hot weather and pulling hard hills... I have the Eliminator rims from Ricksons... they are very nice and look like the dodge "style" rims. . The tires say 75 and I say if you have a big trailer, 75 is fast enough...

heres some pics

Heres the view of the side... The section width is narrower than the 16" tire so these don't stick out much at all...
